Dear customer, you are ruining good deals for everyone by bringing in 5 of these everyday and only spending tops 20ยข per transaction. We won’t be able to do these awesome coupons anymore if the store doesn’t make any money. We will not honor these coupons anymore than once per gold crown membership.

I agree with you Hallmark Employee, the potential exists for customers to “abuse” the coupon.

Limiting the coupon frequency of use for gold crown members will not account for non member customers.

Perhaps making the coupon usable only by registered gold crown members may make it easier to manage, however this may not yield expected sales numbers.

Ultimately the responsibility of managing the use of the coupon is Hallmark’s. Consumers will always try and find a way to save a buck or two … or $10

That’s terrible. I can definitely see people doing this especially during these hard times. If only these customers had the integrity Hallmark has for continuing to honor these coupons. Hats off to Hallmark, and hopefully this will be a lesson learned.

@Jeff. Indeed, Kudos to Hallmark for continuing to honor this coupon.

I see more companies starting to go towards electronic coupons that can only be used from mobile devices. Customers send a text to a number and receive a custom link with a coupon.

This seems like a better option from a tracking standpoint. Plus almost everyone has a smart phone to use such a service.

    Hallmark Employee,
Why do you blame the consumer for trying to save some money?! Atleast you get an employee discount unlike the rest of us.

poor planning on the side of Hallmark with the release of this coupon. They are spanning the web asking sites to take this coupon down.

I take back the kudos I gave them yesterday..lol
